Saponaria officinalis is a flowering plant species that belongs to the Caryophyllaceae family. It is also known as bouncing bet, soapwort, and latherwort. The plant is native to Europe and Asia and has been introduced to North America. It is an herbaceous perennial that grows up to 60 cm (24 inches) tall and produces pink, white, or red flowers.
