Description
Salix fragilis is a deciduous tree that can grow up to 20 meters tall. The bark is grey-brown and deeply fissured. The leaves are narrow and lance-shaped, with a pale green underside and a darker green upper surface. The flowers are yellow and appear in catkins in early spring, before the leaves. The fruit is a small capsule containing numerous tiny seeds.
